The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has threatened to withdraw its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections unless the Department of State Services (DSS) releases its National President, Bello Bodejo.
The Fulani socio-cultural organisation said it would support only candidates and political parties committed to the welfare and advancement of the Fulani community.
Speaking at a press conference at Bodejo’s residence in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the group’s Nasarawa State Chairman, Akhajo Abubakar, criticised Bodejo’s continued detention.
Abubakar said the treatment of the organisation’s members and leaders would influence its political decisions ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We did not vote for APC to arrest our leaders. Our votes this time will go to those who want our progress.”
He also claimed that the Fulani community has more than one million eligible voters in Nasarawa State, suggesting that the group could have a significant influence on electoral outcomes.
The development followed the reported rearrest of Bodejo by DSS operatives shortly after he was released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bodejo had reportedly been detained by the EFCC before his lawyers fulfilled the conditions for his bail. He was said to have been leaving the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Friday when DSS operatives took him into custody again.
