Davido Apologises for Missing Lagos Show

Grammy-nominated singer Davido has apologised to fans after failing to appear at a scheduled performance in Lagos on Sunday, citing difficulties in sourcing aviation fuel.

The artist was billed to headline alongside Zlatan Ibile at Secret Place as part of the venue’s fifth anniversary celebration.

Fans turned out in large numbers for the event, but Davido’s absence sparked reactions both at the venue and across social media.

In an Instagram story shared on Monday, Davido explained that logistical challenges linked to aviation fuel shortages disrupted his travel plans and forced a reschedule.

He noted that broader global tensions were affecting operations, making it difficult to secure fuel for flights.

“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled.”

Davido expressed regret to fans who showed up for the event and assured them that the performance would be rescheduled soon.

“To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it. We’re going to run it back again soon.”

The singer also congratulated the event organisers and reaffirmed his support, promising fans a future appearance to make up for the missed show.
