The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), through operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, has arrested and repatriated Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, a Chadian national wanted by authorities in N’Djamena over an alleged murder case.

DTOWNCRIER News reports that Abdoulaye is wanted in connection with the torture and killing of Nazik Mahamat Saleh on May 3, 2026.

The development was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.

According to the police, the Court of Appeal in N’Djamena issued an international warrant of arrest on June 22, 2026, for Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, over the case.

Abdoulaye, who is also allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, reportedly fled to Nigeria following the incident.

She was subsequently traced and arrested by operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, following coordinated intelligence operations.

The police said Abdoulaye was successfully repatriated to N’Djamena, Chad, on August 14, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.

The operation was carried out by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in close collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to facilitate her return to Chad to face the judicial process.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, commended the operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja for their professionalism, diligence and effective coordination with their Chadian counterparts.

Disu said the successful arrest and repatriation demonstrated the Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives do not evade justice by crossing international borders.

The Nigeria Police Force further reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging international policing channels and partnerships to track fugitives, disrupt trans-border criminal networks and ensure that persons wanted for serious crimes do not find safe haven in Nigeria.
