Former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has lost his polling unit in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, to the Accord Party, the platform on which Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election.
The development came despite Oyinlola’s support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the election.
DTOWNCRIER News understands that Oyinlola had thrown his weight behind Oyebamiji in the build-up to the election.
According to a copy of the result sheet uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV), the Accord Party secured 125 votes at the polling unit, defeating the APC, which polled 85 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with five votes, while the African Action Congress (AAC) recorded two votes.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) each secured one vote.
Several other parties on the ballot, including the Action Alliance (AA), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Action Peoples Party (APP), Boot Party, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), failed to record any votes at the polling unit.
The result sheet showed that 228 voters were accredited for the election, while 220 votes were declared valid and eight ballots were rejected as void.
The election was conducted at Court Hall I, Okuku, in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.
