Erling Haaland has been handed a record-breaking £15.5 million price tag as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) introduced a raft of new features and gameplay updates ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Manchester City striker becomes the most expensive player in Fantasy Premier League history, while Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes received the biggest price increase, climbing £3 million to £12 million. Arsenal defender Gabriel has also been priced at £8 million, becoming only the third defender to reach that valuation.
One of the biggest innovations for the new season is live mini-league updates, allowing managers to track their global ranking, mini-league positions, head-to-head contests and FPL Cup ties in real time while matches are in progress.
Projected bonus points will also appear after 20 minutes of each match and update continuously as the Bonus Points System evolves.
Another major addition is the Price Change Predictor, a new feature designed to monitor transfer activity and official FPL data to indicate which players are most likely to rise or fall in value. While the predictor serves only as a guide, it is expected to help managers make more informed transfer decisions.
Managers will also benefit from redesigned squad pages, with fixture difficulty ratings, player ownership and upcoming opponents displayed more clearly. During the season, player form and price-change probability will also be shown.
For the first time, FPL managers will be able to compare their career performance with other players worldwide through average seasonal rankings and percentile statistics.
The Bonus Points System has also been adjusted to reduce overlap with defensive contribution points, improving bonus-point opportunities for goalkeepers, full-backs and attacking players.
Gameweek deadlines have also been modified. Final Gameweek scores will now be locked at 9:00 a.m. UK time on the day after the final match, instead of one hour after the last whistle, allowing additional Opta data to be included before scores are finalised.
Despite the changes, the chip system remains unchanged. Managers will again receive two sets each of the Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost chips across the season, while up to five free transfers can still be rolled over.
However, the extra free transfers introduced last season because of the Africa Cup of Nations will not return, as the tournament will not take place during the 2026/27 campaign.
Defensive contribution points will also remain in place, while Adobe Express Gameweek Recaps will provide managers with personalised visual summaries of their weekly performances.
