Former Nigeria international Greg Etafia has been appointed as the new goalkeeper coach of Tanzanian Premier League champions Young Africans.
Etafia joins the club’s newly assembled technical crew under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi as the reigning champions step up preparations for the 2026/2027 season.
The 43-year-old launched his coaching career in South Africa with Moroka Swallows in 2015 after retiring from professional football. He was promoted to caretaker manager in March 2016 before departing the club later that year.
In September 2016, Etafia was appointed goalkeeper coach at Cape Town All Stars. He later served as caretaker manager, steering the club from the bottom of the table to a 14th-place finish to avoid relegation, while also guiding the team to the Round of 32 of the Nedbank Cup.
