Edo Police Urge Vigilance, Vow Swift Action Against Crime

The Edo State Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their surroundings to the police for prompt action.

The appeal was made by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Yamu, during a live phone-in segment on Vibes FM’s news and current affairs programme, Community Square. CSP Yamu revealed that several suspected cultists had recently been arrested and would soon be charged to court.

Rafatu Shaibu and John Fiberesima, who monitored the programme, reported that CSP Yamu also called on the public to provide the police with credible information that can aid the ongoing fight against crime and criminality in the state.

Also speaking on the programme, Commander Mitchell Ofoyeju of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Edo State Command, gave a brief overview of the agency’s operational achievements for the month of June. He reaffirmed the NDLEA’s commitment to drug abuse prevention across the state.

During the show, some callers, including Austin from Ugbowo and Prince from Benin, advised parents to closely monitor their children and the kind of company they keep.
