Nigeria international goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor has joined Crystal Palace Women on a two-year contract, strengthening the club’s squad ahead of its return to the Women’s Super League.
The 21-year-old joined Palace as a free agent following her departure from Portsmouth, where she made six appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season.
Born in the Netherlands and raised in England, Erhabor began her football career with Brighton & Hove Albion before gaining senior experience through loan spells at Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle.
She made her debut for the Super Falcons in February, starting Nigeria’s international friendly against Cameroon. Her performances subsequently earned her a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Erhabor will now compete for a starting spot at Crystal Palace after the club secured promotion to the Women’s Super League by finishing second in WSL 2 last season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Erhabor expressed her excitement about the move.
“It feels really good to be here. I’m very excited to get started. I’m aspiring to play at the highest level, so this is a really big step in my career.”
Palace manager Jo Potter also welcomed the Nigerian international, describing her as a promising young goalkeeper.
“Comfort is a promising young goalkeeper, and we are thrilled to have her here at Palace,” Potter said.
Akinsola Joins Cercle Brugge
Meanwhile, Nigerian winger Tunde Akinsola has completed a move to Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge.
The 23-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the Belgian club until June 2030, with an option for an additional year.
Akinsola, who is capable of playing on either wing, joins Cercle Brugge from Portuguese club AVS Futebol SAD after impressing in Portugal with his pace, technical ability and direct attacking style.
Cercle Brugge technical director Luciano Murchio praised the Nigerian winger’s qualities and versatility.
“Tunde is a strong one-v-one player who can be very dangerous in the final third and in transition moments. Thanks to his versatility, he can play across several attacking positions and adds extra quality to our offensive options.”
Akinsola began his career with Valiant FC before moving to Swedish side Vasalund at the age of 17.
He joined Real Valladolid in 2022 and made his La Liga debut against Sevilla the following year. In 2024, he moved to AVS on loan before completing a permanent transfer to the Portuguese club later that year.
The moves mark another significant step in the careers of the two Nigerian internationals, with Erhabor beginning a new chapter in England and Akinsola continuing his development in Belgium.
