The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged politicians to be generous to those who supported them in achieving political victories.
Wike said politicians could not have attained their current positions without the support and sacrifices of the people who stood by them.
Speaking at a political gathering in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the former Rivers State governor emphasized that politics requires sacrifice and generosity.
“Politics is sacrifice. You cannot get to where I am today if your hands are tight. Open your hands for people. People made us to be what we are today, open your hands for them,” he said.
The minister made the remarks during a gathering where he hosted his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
As earlier reported, Fubara paid a courtesy visit to Wike at his residence in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, disclosed the visit in a social media post.
The Rivers State governor was accompanied by Dr. Sam Sam Jaja and was received at Wike’s residence by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, and former governorship candidate, Senator Magnus Abe.
