An officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) seen in a viral video disrupting the Osun State Governorship election has been arrested.
The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room disclosed this in an update following the emergence of the video, which showed the police officer allegedly disrupting the electoral process at a polling centre in Modakeke.
According to the Situation Room, the incident was brought to its attention, prompting its partner, CLEEN Foundation, to engage the leadership of the police responsible for security during the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
The Situation Room confirmed that the officer featured in the video had been apprehended.
“We can confirm that the Police man seen in the video has been apprehended,” the Situation Room said.
It also urged members of the public to prioritise their safety while going out to exercise their civic responsibility and franchise.
