Tinubu Arrives UK for Historic State Visit to Windsor Castle

President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have arrived at Stansted Airport, marking the beginning of a landmark state visit to the United Kingdom.

The presidential aircraft touched down on Tuesday, according to a post by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication.

The visit follows an invitation from King Charles III and Queen Camilla, making it the first Nigerian state visit to the UK since 1989 and the first time a Nigerian leader will be hosted at Windsor Castle.

According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the President and First Lady will be hosted by the royal family from March 18 to 19.

During the visit, President Tinubu is expected to attend the Nigerian Modernism exhibition as guest of honour, highlighting Nigeria’s contemporary arts and cultural heritage. He will also participate in a high-level reception with Nigerian and British business leaders, as well as members of the diaspora community.

The visit is seen as a significant diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, while also promoting cultural exchange and economic collaboration.
