All Progressives Congress Edo Executive Endorses Tinubu, Okpebholo for Second Terms

The newly elected executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, led by Jarrett Tenebe, has endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Monday Okpebholo for second terms in office, citing what it described as their outstanding performance.

Delegates from the 192 wards across Edo State converged on the Sir Victor Uwaifo Hub in Benin City on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, to elect new executive members. In a unanimous voice affirmation, the 36-member state executive led by Tenebe was returned for another four-year term.

In his acceptance speech, Tenebe announced the formal endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Okpebholo, stating that both leaders had demonstrated strong performance and positively impacted the lives of Nigerians and Edo residents.

He also declared the endorsement of former Edo State governor and senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, for a second term in the Senate, describing his representation as quality and effective.

“This unanimous voice affirmation is a call to duty, and we are ready to discharge our responsibility and ensure the party continues to put Edo people first, while supporting the governor to sustain his developmental strides in the state,” Tenebe said.

He commended delegates for their confidence in the executive and pledged that the team would steer the affairs of the party to greater heights. Tenebe also appreciated party faithful for their unwavering support, noting that it helped the APC remain united during challenging times.

According to him, the new term coincides with the implementation of Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda, which he described as a transformational blueprint aimed at repositioning Edo State for sustainable development. He assured that the party remains committed to supporting the successful execution of the agenda.

Chairman of the National Congress Committee, Kabiru Ajana, said the committee was mandated to conduct elections into the 36 vacant executive positions in Edo State. He noted that all positions were returned unopposed after screening, with no appeals recorded, describing the exercise as a reflection of party unity.

Ajana commended Governor Okpebholo for fostering cohesion within the Edo APC and urged other states to emulate the example.

Also speaking, Oshiomhole thanked delegates for re-electing the Tenebe-led executive, describing the congress as seamless and symbolic of unity within the party. He praised Governor Okpebholo’s leadership, saying the unity displayed at the congress sent a strong message about the direction of the party in Edo State.

Other dignitaries present at the state congress included Minister for Regional Development Abubakar Momoh; Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa; Secretary to the Edo State Government Musa Ikhilor; and other party leaders and members.
