Gambian actress Princess Shyngle has called out women in relationships who seek financial help from single women, insisting that financial struggle should not be a burden shifted onto singles.
In a video shared online, Shyngle expressed frustration over what she described as a growing trend. “Struggling is meant for single women only. If you have a man in your life, then that word should not exist in your vocabulary,” she said.
The actress revealed that most people who approach her for financial assistance are married women, women with children, or those in relationships. “The majority of people that come to beg me for money are women with kids, married women, or women in a relationship. They say they haven’t eaten or that their husband is struggling. Are you not ashamed of yourself?” she asked.
She also criticised what she described as hypocrisy, noting that some of these women mock singlehood online while privately asking single women for money. According to her, many single women are working hard to survive on their own, yet are still expected to support those who claim to have partners.
Continuing her criticism, Shyngle said it was unfair for women who proudly flaunt their relationships to turn around and seek financial help from single women. She concluded by expressing deep frustration over what she described as misplaced priorities and entitlement.
