American rapper Snoop Dogg and his family are mourning the loss of his granddaughter, Codi, following her passing at just 10 months old.
The heartbreaking news was announced on Saturday, January 31, by Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, who took to social media to share her grief. Cori posted a black-and-white photo of herself smiling while holding her baby, accompanied by an emotional message revealing that Codi had died earlier in the week.
“Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” she wrote over the photo, adding an angel wing emoji.
Codi’s father and Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also paid tribute to their daughter on his Instagram Stories, sharing a series of touching photos.
“I’ve been the saddest since u left me, Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you,” he wrote over an image of himself holding his daughter, adding simply, “My baby.”
Codi, Snoop Dogg’s granddaughter, was born three months premature and spent much of her life receiving medical care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Despite the challenges, Cori had consistently shared hopeful updates with her followers, posting messages of gratitude, faith and resilience as her daughter continued to fight.
Only weeks before Codi’s death, Cori shared a photo of herself resting beside her baby, saying their prayers had been answered and that her daughter was showing signs of improvement.
The news of Codi’s passing has sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans and well-wishers, as the Broadus family grieves the loss of their youngest member.
