The Edo State House of Assembly Service Commission has terminated the appointments of 324 individuals after declaring their employment letters “unlawful, illegal, null, void, and of no effect.”
The Commission, in a statement dated December 1, 2025, said the affected persons were issued appointment letters without due approval or authorization.
The statement, jointly signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Ezehi M.D. Igbas, and the Secretary, Mrs. Isoken Nehi-Olotu, described the issuance of the employment letters as irregular and outside the Commission’s approved procedures.
“This is to inform the general public that the recent issuance of employment letters to 324 people by the Edo State House of Assembly Service Commission was unauthorised, illegal, and unlawful,” the statement read.
It further announced the immediate invalidation of the controversial appointments, emphasizing that all letters issued in connection with them “are null, void, and of no effect whatsoever.”
The Commission apologized to the affected individuals, expressing regret over the inconvenience caused by what it described as an unauthorized action.
