The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed two senior government officials over forgery, in violation of State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi).
A statement by the Commission’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Saleh Umar, on Wednesday named the affected officers as Yusuf Ningi, an Administrative Officer, and Suleiman Ahmed, a Principal Executive Officer I. Both had been posted to the Government House from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
The Commission said the decision, reached at its 35th plenary on September 23, 2025, took immediate effect and was aimed at safeguarding integrity and accountability in the state civil service.
In the same sitting, the Commission approved promotions for several senior officers, including three substantive directors and four deputy directors elevated to the rank of director. Others promoted include directors of administration, audit, planning, research, statistics, civil litigation, and land valuation. Eight chief state counsels and a chief land officer were also promoted to deputy director.
Commission Chairman, Ibrahim Muhammad, urged civil servants to strictly comply with Public Service Rules and ethical guidelines, stressing that adherence to due process was key to eradicating unlawful practices and ensuring corruption-free service delivery.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers and encouraged them to redouble their commitment to the state.
This follows an earlier dismissal of an education officer on September 11 for gross misconduct involving sexual harassment, based on recommendations from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
