The Nigerian Students and Youths Association (NISAYA) has inaugurated its South-South zonal executives to pilot the affairs of the association in the region.
The ceremony, held in Benin City, Edo State, drew the presence of government representatives, student leaders, and youth groups across the South-South.
Speaking at the event, NISAYA’s National President, Comrade Lawrence Ikehi, explained that the association was established to unite young minds and foster peace, unity, and development among students and youths in Nigeria. He emphasized that the group’s major goal is to promote harmony among youth organizations, protect students’ interests, and inspire change across the country.
Comrade Ikehi also commended the efforts of the zonal coordinator, Comrade Ekwe David, and the deputy coordinator, Comrade Terry Osewingie, for successfully organizing the inauguration. He urged them to remain committed to advancing the cause of Nigerian youths.
In his remarks, Comrade Ekwe David noted that NISAYA is determined to positively impact students and youths, stressing that the association will “leave no stone unturned” in ensuring that young people assume their rightful place in governance.
Other leaders, including the Deputy Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Terry Osewingie; the association’s spokesperson, Imafidon Endurance; and the legal adviser, Irene Stephen, jointly appealed to government at all levels to prioritize youth and student development in the country.
The highlight of the event was the administration of the oath of office on the newly inaugurated executives by the National President, Comrade Ikehi.
