It was a joyous gathering of family, friends, and dignitaries on Sunday as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. (Mrs.) Idia Ize-Iyamu, held a thanksgiving service to celebrate her appointment as the 7th CMD of the institution.
The event, held in Benin City, attracted notable personalities including Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, top government officials, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, business leaders, religious figures from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), as well as staff and students of UNIBEN and UBTH.
Delivering the sermon titled “From Glory to Glory”, Pastor-In-Charge of RCCG Zone Trinity Sanctuary, Prof. Iyasen Dabor, described Prof. Ize-Iyamu as a vessel of God’s abundant blessings. He expressed confidence that her leadership would usher in divine grace and international partnerships for UBTH.
In her remarks, Prof. Ize-Iyamu expressed deep gratitude to God for His continuous favour, noting that 2025 had been an extraordinary year for her family. She recalled her earlier appointment as Dean of the School of Dentistry, UNIBEN, before her elevation to CMD on August 7, 2025.
Her husband, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, commended Governor Okpebholo for his support, describing his role in her appointment as a testament to effective leadership.
