Big Brother Naija Season 10 Housemates Lose First Wager Task, Face Tougher Week Ahead

The housemates of Big Brother Naija Season 10, themed Big Brother Naija: 10/10, have suffered their first major setback as they lost the season’s inaugural wager task.

The announcement was made by Big Brother, popularly known as Biggie, following the housemates’ wager presentation on Friday night. The loss means the contestants will face limited feeding welfare and reduced privileges throughout the upcoming week.

The wager challenge required the housemates to recreate an unmasking show, incorporating a ball-themed concept with dramatic costumes and performances. Despite an enthusiastic effort from some participants, Biggie was clearly unimpressed.

“Such an unremarkable performance.
Housemates, your presentation lacks imagination and substance.
Big Brother’s verdict will be as disappointing as your performance. You have lost your wager,” he declared bluntly.

Biggie also cautioned the housemates over their slow responses and frequent microphone violations, both of which factored into the disappointing outcome.

Prior to the presentation, Head of House, Jason Jae, was seen trying to rally the group, urging them to stay focused and energetic. However, the final delivery was described as disorganised and lacking in intentionality, failing to reflect the unity and preparation expected.

After the presentation, housemate Koyin attempted to address the group in the arena, prompting Big Brother to call for a self-assessment. Jason Jae and Rooboy admitted they had tried, but the effort fell short of Biggie’s standards.

Interestingly, housemate Thelma had humorously predicted the outcome earlier during her diary session. She joked about cooking a proper meal ahead of the presentation, anticipating a loss.

“The way these people are doing, they are not doing like people that will win their wager, so let me make Egusi soup and hot eba that we will eat before they go into the arena,” she said.
“So if they fail, they know that at least they had their last good food before failing.”

As the game intensifies, the housemates now face a challenging week with fewer privileges and increased pressure to perform.

The stakes remain high in this milestone season of BBNaija. According to organisers MultiChoice, the ultimate winner will walk away with a ₦150 million grand prize, including cash and a variety of sponsored gifts.
