In a move aimed at strengthening the executive arm of the Edo State Government, the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four distinguished individuals as Honourable Commissioner Designates.
The nominations, which are to be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation, reflect the administration’s commitment to competent leadership and inclusive governance. The nominees are:
- Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams
- Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP
- Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue
- Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa
Profile of Commissioner Designates:
Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams
A seasoned legal practitioner and political activist, Hon. Nosa T. Adams holds qualifications in Law and Human Resource Management. He has served in various strategic roles, including Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor, and General Manager of Edo State Rubber Estates. Currently, he is the Principal Partner at Nosa Adams & Co and an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP
Hon. Yakubu Musa is a respected politician, philanthropist, Rotarian, and agricultural scientist with degrees in Agriculture and Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC–Nigeria) and has previously served as Executive Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area. He has been honored as an Eminent Peace Ambassador and is deeply involved in community and professional development initiatives.
Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue
Dr. Felix Akhabue is a renowned chartered accountant, entrepreneur, and political leader with a strong background in Accounting and Business Administration. He served as Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government and later as National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON). He has held global leadership roles, including Vice President of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and Board Member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).
Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa
Professor Ikponmwosa is a highly regarded academic and engineer, with specialization in Industrial and Production Engineering. He holds degrees from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, University of Benin, and Ambrose Alli University, including a Ph.D. in Automation and Control. A member of COREN, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), he brings a wealth of academic and technical experience to the table.
The Governor’s nominations are expected to enhance policy implementation and bolster the government’s capacity to deliver on its mandate to the people of Edo State.
