Gaza Famine Deepens: Malnutrition Death Toll Rises to 154, Including 89 Children

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has reported that seven more people have died from malnutrition in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of such deaths since the Israel-Hamas war began in 2023 to 154. Among the victims are at least 89 children, underscoring the severe humanitarian crisis gripping the Palestinian enclave.

On Tuesday, UN-backed global food security experts issued a stark warning that the worst-case scenario of famine is already unfolding in Gaza, with food and medical supplies becoming increasingly scarce.

While Israeli authorities deny imposing restrictions on humanitarian aid into the region, this claim has been challenged by the United Nations, several European nations, and aid organizations operating in the area. These groups argue that access remains limited and inconsistent, worsening the already dire conditions faced by civilians.

The international community continues to call for immediate, unrestricted humanitarian access to avert further loss of life.
