Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has credited his victory in the 2024 governorship election to his choice of running mate, Dennis Idahosa, describing him as a key factor in the successful outcome of the polls.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Friday Aghedo, Governor Okpebholo described Idahosa as more than a political ally, referring to him as a “brother” whose presence on the ticket made a significant impact.
The governor made this remark on Sunday during a reception for defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Okada, the administrative headquarters of Ovia North-East Local Government Area.
Okpebholo praised the working relationship between himself and Idahosa, stating that the unity they share has helped steer the administration effectively. He assured the people of Edo that this partnership would continue to deliver positive results.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the people and the cultural identity of Edo State, Governor Okpebholo emphasized that their loyalty to the grassroots remains a driving force behind their governance.
“We are here to serve our people with sincerity and integrity. We will not let them down,” he stated.
