Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Development, Counters Claims of Northern Neglect

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to equitable development across all regions of Nigeria, insisting that no part of the country will be left behind in the ongoing national transformation agenda.

Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the opening ceremony of a two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement in Kaduna, the President emphasized the importance of inclusive policies, grassroots engagement, and unity in achieving national progress. The event was organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.

The President’s declaration comes in the wake of allegations by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a 2023 opposition presidential candidate, who accused the current administration of sidelining the northern region in its developmental plans.

In response, President Tinubu, represented by a high-level delegation of ministers and government officials from the North, assured stakeholders that his government is focused on balanced, inclusive growth—irrespective of political affiliations or regional divides.

Federal Ministers used the forum to present data and evidence countering claims of northern neglect, showcasing ongoing developmental projects and policy interventions across the region.
