Israeli Airstrikes Kill 30 in Gaza’s Nuseirat District, Including Women and Children

At least 30 Palestinians — among them 14 women and 12 children — were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza’s central Nuseirat district, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency on Tuesday.

Civil defence spokesperson Mahmud Bassal stated the strikes began overnight and extended into the morning, targeting multiple residential homes within the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Al-Awda hospital confirmed it had received the bodies of the 30 victims. There has been no immediate response from the Israeli military, which has been engaged in a prolonged offensive against Hamas in Gaza since the October 7, 2023, attack by the militant group.

According to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, the Israeli campaign has resulted in the deaths of over 59,900 Palestinians over the course of nearly 22 months.

In response to mounting global pressure to prevent widespread famine in the territory, Israel announced “tactical pauses” beginning Sunday to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery. These designated corridors for aid convoys are expected to remain secure from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office.

Despite the humanitarian pause, overnight airstrikes have continued.

Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) reported that on Monday, over 200 aid trucks were distributed by UN and humanitarian agencies, with another 260 trucks cleared to enter Gaza. Four UN tankers delivered fuel, and 20 pallets of aid were airdropped from Jordanian and Emirati aircraft.
