Presidency Refutes Kwankwaso’s Claims of Northern Neglect Under Tinubu

The Presidency has refuted claims made by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), alleging that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is neglecting the Northern region.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ dialogue on the 2025 constitutional amendment held in Kano on Thursday, Kwankwaso warned that national resources are being disproportionately allocated to the South, leading to worsening poverty and insecurity in the North.

In response, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, dismissed the claims in a post on his X handle on Friday. He challenged Kwankwaso’s position and highlighted several major infrastructural projects currently underway across Northern states, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to balanced national development.
