Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to represent Nigeria at the second United Nations Food Systems Summit.
Upon arrival, the Vice President convened a strategic meeting with the Nigerian delegation, which included the Technical Assistant to the President on Agriculture and Executive Secretary of the Presidential Food Systems Coordinating Unit, Marion Moon.

Shettima is expected to engage with global leaders in high-level sessions focused on transforming the global coffee value chain. He will also participate in key roundtable discussions and strategic meetings aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s food systems and boosting agricultural resilience.
The summit, taking place from July 27 to 29, serves as a global review of progress made since the inaugural 2021 Food Systems Summit. It is set to reignite international commitments to building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food systems.
In a symbolic gesture of agricultural cooperation, the Vice President donated 2,000 cashew seedlings and 100,000 cashew seeds to Ethiopia.
