South African singer Tyla has won the Best African Music Performance award at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, triumphing over a strong field of African music heavyweights including Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and Eddy Kenzo.
Tyla clinched the prestigious honour with her hit song “Push 2 Start,” marking another major milestone in her rapidly rising global career and reinforcing her status as one of Africa’s leading new-generation stars.
The category featured intense competition, with Davido nominated for “With You” featuring Omah Lay, Burna Boy earning a nod for “Love,” and Ayra Starr recognised for “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid. Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin were also nominated for their collaborative track “Hope & Love.”
With the latest win, Tyla becomes a two-time Grammy Award winner, having previously claimed her first Grammy at the previous awards ceremony, further solidifying her growing influence on the global music stage.
