The President Traders Welfare Union of Nigeria, Comrade Lucky Orukpe and some traders in Benin City have commended Edo State the state governor Monday Okpebholo for banning all illegal unions in the State.
Comrade Orukpe and the traders who made the commendation during a thank you rally held in Benin City, with Rice leave sellers said the attack on the women stopped them from going to the market for two months.
According to Orukpe, the leader of the Rice leave sellers connived to deny the women from buying Rice leave from the Community because they refused to join the union.
He said the governor hearing the matter gave a matching order through the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in Government House to all concern to allow the women go and do their business without any harassment from anybody.
Also speaking, the leader Rice leave sellers Endurance Oghobuahon commended the governor, the CSO and Mr Robert for their intervention in the matter.
They assured of their continued support for the governor Monday Okpebholo’s led administration.
Recall that the governor in a circular made available to newsmen stopped the operation of all illegal unions operating in Edo State
