Tinubu Pays Tribute to Late Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom

President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja on Sunday for Ijebu, Ogun State, to honour the late Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The President’s visit was in respect of the eighth-day Fidau prayer held in memory of the revered monarch, who passed away on July 13 at the age of 91 and was buried the next day.

Accompanied by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the President arrived at the Gateway International Agro/Cargo Airport in Illisan-Iperu, Ogun State, where he was received by top state officials.

Upon arrival, Tinubu inspected a guard of honour before proceeding to the Igbeba Family Court in Ijebu-Ode, where he offered prayers at the tomb of the late monarch. He also extended condolences to the family of the late Awujale.

Oba Adetona, known for his wisdom and service, was one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning traditional rulers, deeply respected across the country.
