The Federal Ministry of Education has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide free digital skills training and certification to students and educators in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The initiative was announced via the Ministry’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle and aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to promote access to 21st-century skills.
According to the Ministry, the program will focus on key digital competencies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning.
Federal Ministry of Education Partners with AWS to Launch Free Nationwide Digital Skills Program
The Federal Ministry of Education has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to introduce a free digital skills training program for students and educators across Nigeria. The initiative will cover key areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and more.
As part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, the program is being rolled out to federal, state, and private tertiary institutions. A major highlight of the initiative is that all certifications are fully funded—at no cost to participants—courtesy of the Ministry and AWS.
Over 40 Institutions Already Onboard
Implementation has already begun in federal institutions, with 43 federal universities and polytechnics currently participating. The program is expanding rapidly, and schools are now encouraged to register coordinators to initiate training.
“Schools can now nominate coordinators to begin the process. Don’t miss out—get involved today,” the Ministry stated.
Call to Action for Private and State Institutions
To widen participation, the Ministry is urging Vice Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of private and state tertiary institutions to nominate program coordinators. All details must be submitted no later than Friday, July 19, 2025, by 5 PM.
