The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens to remain hopeful of a brighter future.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Leke Baiyewu, Abbas noted that Nigeria has weathered a checkered history and continues to move forward, with the years ahead promising greater unity and prosperity.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain emphasized that Nigeria is richly blessed with both human and material resources, but stressed the need for collective effort to take the nation to greater heights.
According to him, the country remains on the right path through the implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
While acknowledging the prevailing security and socio-economic challenges, Abbas urged Nigerians not to lose faith but to remain patriotic, prayerful, and law-abiding.
He further assured that the 10th National Assembly is committed to delivering accountable leadership, good governance, and the dividends of democracy, particularly at the grassroots level.
