Senate to Hold Special Session Today in Honour of Late President Muhammadu Buhari

The Senate has announced plans to hold a special session today in tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari, reflecting on his legacy and contributions to Nigeria’s national development following his recent passing.

This follows a similar session held last week by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in his honour.

During the FEC tribute on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu praised Buhari for leading the country with restraint, governing with dignity, and carrying the weight of leadership without complaint.

Buhari passed away in London on July 13 after a prolonged, undisclosed illness. He was laid to rest last week in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in a ceremony attended by dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria.
