Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, has threatened to pursue “every necessary means” to find and sue a social-media user who alleged he coerced a former domestic worker — an accusation the singer called defamatory.
The controversy erupted after photos from the 25th birthday party of Rudeboy’s wife, Ivy Ifeoma, circulated on X (formerly Twitter).
The images prompted a flurry of comments about the age gap between the couple.
One user, @Zoyablooms, who describes herself as an “Evil Feminist,” mocked the age difference. Another, @darkskinnedtemi, asked whether Rudeboy “also cheats on his wife with their housemaid.”
A third account, @chubbiedivah, escalated the matter by alleging that the singer “raped/coerced their domestic help,” adding that the helper “was most likely wayyyy younger.”
Fans alerted Rudeboy to the posts, and he responded publicly on X, promising to locate the account and take legal action. In a now-viral reply he wrote: “@chubbiedivah if you like go private, leave X!! I will find you, I will use every necessary means, power, resources and money!!! You will face the law, I will use you to set an example!! … your only way out is to leave the surface of this earth and relocate to space.”
He also thanked those who drew the tweet to his attention.
Following the backlash and
Rudeboy’s response, @chubbiedivah deactivated her X and Instagram accounts. The incident has provoked mixed reactions online: some users encouraged stern action, while others urged Rudeboy to keep any response strictly within the law.
Comments ranged from calls to pursue legal remedies to cautions against intimidation or vigilante conduct.
Several users named others they felt should also be held accountable for spreading allegations. Amid the heated exchange, voices on both sides emphasized the importance of due process and warned against making or amplifying serious accusations without evidence.
