Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé found the net within the opening nine minutes, stunning Real Madrid and silencing much of the 77,542-strong crowd. With the victory, Luis Enrique’s side stands one win away from sealing a historic treble, having already clinched the Ligue 1 title and their first-ever UEFA Champions League earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner brushed off injury concerns to defeat Ben Shelton in straight sets at Wimbledon, advancing to the semi-finals. Despite wearing a protective sleeve on his right arm due to a knock sustained in the previous round against Grigor Dimitrov, Sinner powered through the quarter-final 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 in just over two hours.
