The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced that the enforcement of tinted glass permits will commence nationwide on October 2, 2025.
This was revealed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, in a statement issued on Saturday in Dutse, the state capital.
According to him, online registration and applications are already ongoing via posspap.gov.ng, and members of the public are advised to carefully follow the outlined process for a seamless application.
Applicants are required to:
- Create an account using their NIN, BVN, or TIN.
- Verify the account through their email.
- Log in to select the Tinted Glass Permit service.
- Upload their vehicle details with the necessary documents.
SP Adam stressed that applicants must double-check all information before submission and make payments strictly through the official portal to ensure faster processing.
He further explained that, after application, applicants will undergo vehicle inspection and biometric fingerprint capturing at designated Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Departments.
For Jigawa applicants, biometric capturing will be done free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse.
The PPRO also cautioned motorists against dealing with unauthorised individuals attempting to exploit the process, insisting that the initiative is designed to enhance transparency and promote road safety.
The Command urged members of the public to cooperate fully for smooth enforcement and to help curb illegal window tinting.
“Those intending to apply should begin registration promptly ahead of the enforcement date,” SP Adam advised.
