Over 40 Killed in Israeli Strikes as Gaza Ceasefire Talks Falter

More than 40 Palestinians have been killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency. The strikes targeted a busy market in Gaza City, where 11 people died, and a water distribution point in the Nuseirat refugee camp, where a drone strike claimed 10 lives, including eight children.

The attacks come as ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas remain deadlocked after a week of indirect talks in Doha, Qatar. Both sides are now blaming each other for stalling progress toward a temporary truce to halt nearly two years of ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
