Okpebholo Launches ‘Operation Flush Out’ to Tackle Insecurity in Edo

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has officially launched a new security initiative tagged ‘Operation Flush Out Kidnappers and Cultists’ to tackle the rising cases of insecurity in the state.

During the launch on Sunday, the governor also approved the creation of a special security squad specifically tasked with rooting out kidnappers and cult groups wreaking havoc across the state.

According to a statement released by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the operation is a strategic move initiated by the Office of the Principal Security Officer (PSO) to the Governor. It will be jointly coordinated by the PSO and the Chief Security Officer at the Government House.

Governor Okpebholo, while giving the go-ahead for the operation, reaffirmed his administration’s zero tolerance for criminal activity and violent crimes.
He emphasized that “Edo State must become safe again—for our children, for investors, and for our people in the diaspora who wish to return and contribute to development.”
