Okpebholo Inspects Ramat Park Flyover, Reaffirms Prudent Use of Public Funds

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has restated his administration’s commitment to transparency and effective use of public resources, as work on the first-ever flyover in the state—at Ramat Park, Ikpoba-Okha—hits 60 percent completion.

During an inspection tour of the project, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and assured residents that funds allocated to the state by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are being judiciously applied to deliver meaningful, people-oriented infrastructure.

“This is the project we are executing with the money given to us by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It shows that the Renewed Hope Agenda is working. We will keep supporting the contractors to ensure they deliver a quality project that improves the lives of Edo people. The money is working for Edo State,” Okpebholo said.

The Governor emphasized that the project would be delivered on schedule, stressing that its completion would showcase the difference between the PDP and the APC as a progressive party.

The inspection tour, which began from Uteh Road and passed through Palace Road and Upper Mission Extension, climaxed at Ramat Park Flyover, where the Governor was cheered by residents, traders, and commuters. He also stopped at several points to inspect side drains and seek clarifications on technical issues.

Giving updates, Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. (Mrs.) Phoebe Bello Williams, disclosed that the contractor is ahead of schedule.

“The project was awarded in December with an 18-month timeline, but with the current pace, delivery will be in 14 months. One abutment has been completed, and the beam on one side has been launched. Work on the retaining walls and drainage is ongoing, and pavement work will commence after the rainy season,” she explained.

When completed, the Ramat Park Flyover will stand as a historic milestone—the first in Edo State—set to ease traffic congestion, improve mobility, and significantly boost the infrastructure profile of Benin City and its environs.
