Okpebholo Approves Five Commissioner-Designates for Edo State

The Edo State Government has announced that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the nomination of five individuals as Commissioner-Designates.

The nominees are:

  1. Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae
  2. Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi
  3. Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP)
  4. Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo
  5. Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN

Profiles of the Nominees

Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae
A distinguished legal practitioner and member of the International Bar Association, Hon. Uwadiae holds an LL.B (Hons) from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He previously served as Chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.

Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi
Hon. Ogbeiwi, a seasoned administrator and politician, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Religion from Edo State University. He is a former Member of the Edo State House of Assembly and has international training in project monitoring, evaluation, and governance.

Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP)
Hon. Idehen is an experienced politician and administrator with a B.A. (Hons) in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin. He has served as a State Commissioner and as Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government.

Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo
Hon. Amayaenvbo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration and an MBA from the University of Benin. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, he has a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors.

Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN
Professor Otaru is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, renowned academic, and legal practitioner. He holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Benin, an LL.M from the University of Ife, and a Ph.D. in Law from Babcock University. He is also a Fellow of multiple professional institutes and an Honorary Member of the Body of Benchers.

The Edo State Government noted that the nominations have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
