Ogun Court Adjourns Case of Driver in Anthony Joshua Road Crash to March 2026

The Ogun Magistrate Court 1 in Sagamu, presided over by Magistrate Olufumilayo Somefun, has adjourned the trial of Adeniyi Mobolaji, the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua’s road accident, to March 17, 2026.

This marks the second adjournment of the case to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions, who recently took over the matter, sufficient time to prepare for the hearing.

Mobolaji faces multiple charges, including dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care resulting in bodily harm and property damage, and operating a vehicle without a valid national driver’s licence.

In her ruling on the adjournment request, Magistrate Somefun granted the application to enable counsel from the Director of Public Prosecutions’ office to adequately prepare, setting the next hearing for March 17, 2026.
