The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, has reaffirmed the scheme’s commitment to maintaining its integrity despite prevailing challenges in parts of the country.
He made this declaration on Wednesday during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Pre-Orientation Course Workshop held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Speaking on the theme, “Maintaining the Integrity of the Orientation Course in the Face of Competing Interests,” Nafiu emphasized that, despite the complex operating environment, the NYSC has consistently conducted successful orientation exercises nationwide.
He noted that the Pre-Orientation Course Workshop offers a strategic platform for NYSC management and key stakeholders to review past orientation exercises and explore avenues for continuous improvement.
According to the DG, “The periodic conduct of this workshop is borne out of the NYSC management’s determination to ensure the continuous improvement of the orientation course content, with a view to equipping corps members adequately for the enormous task of nation building.”
