The executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ireland Chapter, led by Chairman Ambassador Jeffrey Oronsaye, paid a courtesy visit to the Consulate of Nigeria in Dublin.
The delegation was warmly received by the Head of Consular Services, Ambassador Juda Muoh, during an engagement aimed at strengthening ties between the Nigerian youth diaspora and the diplomatic mission.
In his remarks, Ambassador Oronsaye expressed deep gratitude to the Consulate for the warm reception and conveyed greetings to the Government and people of Nigeria, both at home and abroad. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to fostering national unity and contributing positively to Nigeria’s development from the diaspora.

Highlighting pressing issues affecting Nigerians overseas, Oronsaye urged the President and members of the National Assembly to prioritize diaspora voting and comprehensive electoral reforms. He stressed that the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral process is vital to the emergence of capable leadership and the advancement of democratic governance. Allowing Nigerians in the diaspora to vote, he noted, would further strengthen the nation’s democracy.
In response, Ambassador Muoh commended the Youth Council’s Ireland Chapter for its proactive engagement and assured the delegation that their concerns would be relayed to the relevant authorities in Nigeria. He acknowledged the importance of diaspora voices in shaping national policies and reiterated the Consulate’s readiness to support initiatives that promote inclusion and participation.
The NYCN Ireland Chapter reaffirmed its resolve to translate the outcomes of the meeting into meaningful actions that will benefit Nigerian youths and strengthen the country’s democratic process both at home and abroad.
