NSCDC Trains 250 Officers in Sign Language to Boost Inclusive Security Services

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, has successfully graduated 250 personnel who completed a five-week intensive training in sign language.

The graduation ceremony, held at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Abuja, marked a significant step toward promoting inclusive, people-centered security services in the country.

In his address, the FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, hailed the initiative as a “momentous turning point” in the corps’ efforts to bridge communication gaps and enhance inclusivity within the security sector.

Odumosu emphasized that capacity building remains central to the NSCDC’s mission of delivering modern, responsive, and inclusive security solutions. He also commended the graduating officers for their commitment, noting that the training carries significant implications for the future of security service delivery in Nigeria.
