Nottingham Forest have announced the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new head coach on a contract running until 2027.
The 54-year-old, formerly in charge of Burnley and Everton, takes over from Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked on Saturday after just 40 days in charge at the City Ground.
A former Forest trainee under the legendary Brian Clough, Dyche becomes the club’s third manager this season, marking his first job since leaving Everton earlier this year.
In a statement, Forest said:
“A respected and experienced Premier League manager, Dyche brings the perfect blend of character, tactical acumen, and proven achievement to guide the club through its next chapter.”
Dyche’s first game in charge will be Thursday’s Europa League home clash against Porto.
Postecoglou’s dismissal came shortly after a 3–0 defeat to Chelsea, leaving him as the shortest-serving permanent manager in Premier League history.
Club owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly made the decision after Forest failed to secure a single win in eight matches.
Postecoglou had been appointed following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked in September after a breakdown in his relationship with the ownership.
Forest currently sit in the Premier League relegation zone with just five points from eight games, despite over £100 million invested in new signings during the summer transfer window.
