My acting debut made me respect actors more – Ayra Starr

Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has relished making her acting debut in the American fantasy film, Children of Blood and Bone.

Speaking on her experience in a recent interview, Starr explained that she was forced to work hard and be punctual, unlike in the music industry.

She stressed that the experience made her respect actors more than ever. The film is an adaptation of Nigerian-American writer, Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, Children of Blood and Bone.

The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, has a star-studded cast which includes: Damson Idris, Tosin Cole, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, and Thuso Mbedu.

The movie is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on January 15, 2027.
