Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has cautioned that the ongoing conflict in the region “will affect everyone,” emphasizing that its consequences will extend across borders, irrespective of race, religion, or economic status.
Speaking on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Araghchi urged greater resistance from Western officials against the war, noting that a “wave of global consequences has only commenced and will affect all – irrespective of wealth, religion, or race,” in a post shared on X.
The statement accompanied the resignation letter of Joe Kent, director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, submitted on Tuesday, March 17. In his letter, Kent said he could not “in good conscience” support the war in Iran, arguing that “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation.”
Araghchi highlighted a “growing number of voices – including European and US officials” denouncing the conflict as unjust and called on other members of the international community to take similar stances.
The remarks underscore Tehran’s position that the conflict carries wide-reaching global implications and that international pressure is essential to curbing further escalation.
