The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched a new digital platform for the application and processing of the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Alien Card (CERPAC), in a bid to modernize the nation’s immigration processes.
In a statement signed by the NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI Kenneth Akinlabi, the agency announced that the online portal is now active, enabling both individuals and organisations to electronically complete and submit applications for expatriate permits.
Akinlabi explained that the initiative is part of wider reforms by the Federal Government to enhance transparency, improve operational efficiency, and provide a better user experience in key public service delivery.
He also revealed that with the launch of the digital system, the NIS has set a definitive deadline for the full transition from manual to electronic processing.
