The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, has congratulated the revered Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, on the occasion of his birthday and the 9th anniversary of his coronation.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo commended the Benin Monarch for his unwavering commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Edo people and for his exemplary leadership since ascending the ancient throne of his forefathers.
The Governor described Oba Ewuare II as a distinguished and unique monarch whose reign has been marked by peace, development, and the promotion of unity and progress within the Benin Kingdom and Edo State as a whole.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Edo State, I convey my warm felicitations and prayers to our Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, on his birthday and 9th coronation anniversary,” Governor Okpebholo stated. “The Oba’s wisdom, diplomatic finesse, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people continue to inspire all of us in government.”
He further lauded the monarch’s efforts in promoting peace, combating societal ills, and fostering harmony among residents of the state, noting that the Oba’s presence serves as a moral and cultural compass for the state’s “New Edo” agenda.
Governor Okpebholo prayed for the Oba’s continued good health, strength, and long life, reaffirming his administration’s loyalty and partnership with the Benin Royal Palace.
“I pledge my continued respect and support to the Benin Royal Palace and will work tirelessly with His Royal Majesty to ensure a prosperous future for all Edo citizens,” he concluded.
