In a decisive step to bolster the educational sector in Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the constitution of the Governing Council for the Edo State College of Education.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.
The newly constituted Governing Council features accomplished professionals drawn from diverse fields, entrusted with the responsibility of providing strategic leadership and institutional oversight.
Appointed members include Ephraim O. S. Aluebhosele – Chairman, ESV Isimekhai Zeenat Odion – Member, Ehighalua Monday Ehiagwina – Member, Uwuigbe Victor – Member, Eigbe Godwin Ebatamehi –Member
This development is expected to usher in a new era of academic excellence and efficient administration at the Edo State College of Education.
The Secretary to the State Government noted that the inauguration of the council will be held on a date to be communicated later.
Governor Okpebholo’s action reflects his unwavering commitment to improving education and strengthening governance across Edo State’s tertiary institutions.
