Fire Guts Old Terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport

A massive fire outbreak has engulfed the old terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Sources close to the airport disclosed that the fire started around 3:30 p.m. on Monday. However, the cause of the inferno had not been determined as of the time of filing this report.

The affected terminal, which is currently undergoing reconstruction by the Federal Government, was seen engulfed in flames as emergency responders battled to contain the situation.

Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), alongside other emergency response agencies, were reportedly on ground working to put out the fire.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Henry Agbebire, confirmed the incident.

Agbebire stated that FAAN firefighters were actively responding and making efforts to contain the blaze.

“No loss of life has been recorded. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” he said.
